Recognizing Excellence in Northeast Florida
Each spring, the region's commercial real estate community gathers to recognize the "Best of the Best" at the CREDA Northeast Florida Awards of Excellence Gala — the chapter's signature evening and the year's definitive celebration of the deals, developments and people shaping the First Coast.
The gala honors achievement across the full spectrum of the industry, with awards spanning Deal of the Year in Land, Office, Industrial and Retail/Mixed-Use/Multifamily; Project of the Year for new construction and renovation/build-out; Broker and Rising Broker of the Year; Developer/Owner of the Year; Associate Member of the Year; and Developing Leader of the Year. Winners aren't chosen casually: applications are submitted, finalists are vetted by a judging committee through interviews, and only the strongest projects and professionals take the stage. Finalists and honorees are also recognized in the Jacksonville Daily Record, and the categories mirror the national recognition CREDA confers — tying regional excellence to a broader North American community of commercial real estate leaders. Beyond the trophies, it's one of the most valuable networking evenings on the calendar, putting decision-makers from every corner of the market in the same room.
Producing an event of that caliber takes months of work from the chapter's volunteer Awards Committee, and their responsibilities run wider than most. Sponsorship anchors the evening: the committee builds and sells a tiered program from presenting sponsor to table, award-category and reception sponsorships with recruiting partners, coordinating their on-screen, print and signage visibility, and making sure every sponsor sees a clear return, with proceeds supporting the chapter's programming and mission. On venue and production, the committee secures a standout setting, negotiates terms, and manages seating, staging, AV and the timing of the awards program so the night moves at pace. Food and beverage is coordinated end to end with the venue including reception, dinner and bar service. And the coordination is considerable, because the committee runs both an event and an adjudication: soliciting nominations, managing the judging committee and finalist interviews, producing awards and on-screen recognition, building the run of show, and handling registration, table assignments and follow-up. It's a demanding lift, delivered by members who give their time because the gala reflects the caliber of the chapter — and the market — it represents.
